Lagu tersebut rilis pada 1998 dalam album berjudul Hello Nasty yang meraih peringkat pertama di tangga Billboard 200.
"Intergalactic" menjadi singel pertama dari album tersebut dan pernah muncul dalam film komedi remaja Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Lagu ini juga memenangkan penghargaan Grammy Award untuk Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group pada 1999.
