JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Ruel mengawali kariernya pada 2017 dengan meluncurkan lagu debut ciptaannya sendiri berjudul "Don't Tell Me".
Melansir dari laman web Nylon, dikabarkan bahwa Ruel menulis lagu ini saat berumur 12 tahun setelah dilarang keluarganya jatuh cinta dan berpacaran karena dianggap masih terlalu muda.
Meski "Don't Tell Me" adalah karya pertamanya, lagu ini berhasil menembus tangga lagu ARIA dengan menempati posisi ke-76.
Video musiknya diluncurkan menyusul kemudian pada 2018.
