Film tersebut dirilis pada 1986 sebagai buah karya sutradara Tony Scott yang turut menggandeng aktor-aktor papan atas seperti Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, dan Tom Skerritt.
