Dirilis pada 2009, lagu ini menjadi trek kesepuluh dalam albumnya It's Not Me, It's You.
Lily mengatakan bahwa lagu ini ia ciptakan untuk menggambarkan kerinduannya untuk pulang dan menghabiskan waktu bersama ibunya oleh karena itu, "Chinese" menjadi lagu yang sangat penting baginya.
