JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Grup band rock-grunge dari Seattle, Pearl Jam mempopulerkan lagu berjudul “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter in a Small Town” yang rilis pada 1993.
Sang vokalis, Eddie Vedder, mengatakan lagu ini tentang seorang wanita yang selama bertahun-tahun terjebak di kota kecil, hingga akhirnya ia bekerja di tempat itu.
Lalu ia melihat seorang laki-laki tua, namun ia terlalu malu untuk menyapa.
Lagu ini muncul dalam album kedua mereka yang bertajuk Vs. (1993).
