Dirilis pada 28 April 2023, melalui lagu ini mereka berkolaborasi dengan penyanyi Sufjan Stevens.

“Once Upon a Poolside” dimuat sebagai trek pertama dalam album terbaru The National yang bertajuk First Two Pages of Frankenstein.

Album tersebut diproduseri oleh semua member band, yakni Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Bryan Devendorf, dan Scott Devendorf.
